Most humans believe in Gods. But who is God or What is God? God is considered a supreme being, the supposed creator of this world. It is said to be omnipresent. There are more than 4000 religions in the world and each of them have labeled someone as their God. According to them, these Gods usually had existed many centuries back. Their tales supposedly have been passed down the generations.
The truth is that there is no one in the current lot of people in the world belonging to the various religions who have actually seen God. They assume it because their parents have told them about it. The present generation have no way to prove that what their parents or grandparents have told them is true or not. They have no way to prove or disprove that the tales about Gods passed to them have not been modified in between before reaching them. Whether these tales got diluted or accentuated over the generations is not known. After all, we are all aware of the globally popular children's game called telephone or Chinese Whispers. We all know that the message that the final player says is usually a garbled up version of the original message. Similarly what ideas about Gods has reached the current generation is far from truth. And we all know how humans in power or intermediary people such as priests deliberately modify things to suit their needs and cheat money out of poor, ignorant people. I have always wondered why you need a person in between yourself and 'God'.
God vs Saint
God is the creator. It is a super power. But the fact is that no humans, present or past, have seen it. Most probably, God or the superpower does not look like us. Humans created Computers. But do computers look like us or do we look like computers? The answer is a big NO. Then why should one believe without any concrete or solid proof that the superpower looks like us. Why do all religious people give their own image to the creator? This is wrong. It is setting up of a wrong trend.
And what God images that humans have created out of their imagination or truly are not that of Gods. These images belong to saints, if any. Saints are humans who have societal and people welfare in their minds. These people have not created the world. They are also not any angels sent by God. They are just human beings who have reached the fifth stage of Maslow's hierarchy of needs. They are in self-actualization stage. They are happy with self and not dependent on others for opinions or happiness of life. They aim to change society for betterment and have unbiased people welfare at heart. These are saintly figures whom people started worshipping and considering Gods. But these people generally are good but they also have their human limitations and weaknesses. Hence they are not the creators of the world. But they are trying to change people behavior and society and prevent it from destroying self and Nature. They are wise people with words of wisdom for everyone. They place people's needs before their own and move around spreading messages of love and humanity. But in the process they neglect their own family. This is their limitation and weakness. Hence they are not creator if the world but below it and above humans.
Read here: There are no happy marriages
People have made religions and converted saints into Gods. They use this to exploit and remain in power. The weak-minded people cling to them and in the process ruin their own lives. They stop working, think that mere praying would help and expend money in it. All this does not help them.
I would request everyone:
1. No one has seen God. No one knows how he or she or it looks. Stop assuming images of Gods.
2. Stop elevating your multiple saints to the position of Gods.
3. Stop believing what comes down generations with no proofs.
4. Creator is one.
5. Stop fighting over religion. Consider humanity as your religion and justice your motto irrespective of caste, race, creed, or religion. Follow secularism. If you need efforts to preserve your religion, it is not a good religion.
6. Keep religion and the superstitious unscientific rites and rituals within the confines of your body or home. Do not bring it outside to public places.
7. Say or believe only things you can prove. Do not assume and build on it. It will collapse sooner or later.
This would make a happy and peaceful world.
