Voices and attractiveness! What is a sexy voice?

 Voices play a great role in our personality and relationships with people.  Some voices are so sexy that people get attracted to that particular person automatically whereas other voices are not liked by people. Hence despite having other good traits such people may end up being unable to get attention of people easily. 

Hearing good voices also uplift moods and make one feel good. Knowing this,  Internet has some apps and websites that are useful and handy for people who are keen about good voices and sounds. There are ASMR that is very much focused on sounds and great voices. And there are also apps such as Quinn and Dipsea that could be used for same purpose. There are some Tom Hardy reading bedtime stories on the Web that though meant for children are more tuned in by adults. 

Voices and its nature and volume also plays a significant role in dating. In order to attract someone, people tend to lower the amplitude of their voice or whisper since this seems to work in it. Many a times after hearing a sexy voice, one tends to feel that the person on the other side of the phone or in the radio is attractive. So what is it that makes a voice attractive?

Estevan Q, a Los Angeles-based writer and co-host of the pop culture podcast Your Gay Cousins states:

“There are definitely those voices you hear that just get you going,”

And Estevan continues:

“For me, there’s a certain texture and rhythm to a guy’s voice that can be so attractive.  It isn’t necessarily about a voice being deep, but one that’s a bit gravelly, yet breathy — sort of how I imagine whiskey might sound if it had a voice.”

Even if a person with a good voice talks something mundane, you tend to want to continue to listen to it. And your mind might at times drift to naughtier places.

Sexy voice and prolongation of dating period 

There have been instances that people did not particularly like a person's physique or behavior, but it was the voice that kept them going in the relationship. They could not end it due to the sexy voice that was irresistible. Sometimes,  a voice though good might be a turn off since it closely resembles another celebrity who does not have a good name or is notorious!!! 

Women,  in general like deep voices in men. This may be so because it is associated with higher testosterone levels and greater reproductive ability. It means unscientifically richness, wisdom and strength. And men prefer females with high pitched voices because it implies higher oestrogen levels and better fertility and more submissiveness. 

Different voices in romance 

A 2010 study, however, showed that women tend to talk in lower and sexier tones when they are around a person they love. So a sexual voice is actually different. Susan Hughes, an expert in evolutionary psychology states:

“There is a stereotype of what is a sexual voice in our culture ― a low, breathy voice,” 

A sexy voice is partly biological and partly what exaggerated ideas and notions the society holds at that time. Author Jean Berko Gleason states:

“A sexy voice voice is warm and inviting. It feels as if it is spoken from the chest, rather than the head. Its tones are pleasing and not at all nasal.”

In Japan,  India,  and Asia,  preference is given to a high pitched female voice whereas this may not hold true in Europe or the USA. 

Thus,  though voice attracts or repels, it in no way stands or represents the physical attractiveness or qualities in a person. It is superficial and must be considered from the head rather than the heart!!!
