Mars Race: Living on Mars-How and when would it be?

 Human stay and settlements have not yet started on the Moon and scientists and visionaries are already talking about what life would be for humans on Mars. This idea itself is fascinating and could probably be a reality in the future, say scientists. Elon Musk has talked about what it would be to stay on Mars!

NASA estimates that by 2030, the first manned flight to Mars would take off. This is great news. This fascination has been haunting Humankind since the 1960s. But people wonder about the type of life there. So how would life be for people who decided later on to settle on Mars?

Tesla Director, Elon Musk has provided us with an insight about human life in Mars in the decades to come. He has tweeted on this matter. The Billionaire said:

 “First, life would be in glass domes (or vaults). Eventually, it would terraform to allow life as it is on Earth. "

The current atmospheric conditions on Mars are not ideal for human life. It has an extreme temperature and there are frequent solar storms and an abundance of deadly particles floating in the air. Hence, living there has to be modified to overcome these harsh conditions.

The project to make human life on that planet of our solar system possible is a challenging and difficult task. But its realization would be a huge advancement in terms of humans. It will be a test of humans as an evolving species, says Pablo de León, NASA's director of manned flights.

UAE’s Dubai is one of the countries that have set its goal on reaching Mars by 2117. It is committed to it and is focusing on the development of dome-like structures in its deserts. The other countries in this Mars race are the USA and China. Besides the countries, there are some private manufacturers who are also keen to reach Mars on their own. These include Elon’s SpaceX and Boeing. NASA has made it clear that it is not seeing these private ventures as a competition but wants to cooperate with them to make this dream a reality soon.

Other companies in the Mars race

SpaceX has declined to comment on its participation in this race to Mars. Blue Origin is also greatly interested in this outer space mission to Mars. Virgin Galactic has stated that it would like to be part of future service to and from Mars.

SpaceX is planning first a starship launch and this would be followed by a cargo mission for Mars in 2022. And in 2024 will go their crewed mission. It wants to set up a propellant depot and a base on Mars first.  Inspiration Mars was in the picture to Mars but is dormant since 2015. China also plans crewed missions to Mars in 2020s.
