How would you feel if your devotion, duty, faithfulness, sacrifice and love is deliberately not acknowledged and in its place, you only get coldness and sometimes even hate? This is the plight of majority of the daughters in Asia and especially in India.
Trust me, when I say this! This is neither an over exaggeration nor is it untrue! Most daughters in India are not given their dues. This is at home as well also sometimes at workplace!
I have witnessed n number of such cases and if I start writing on it, it would make an encyclopedia. Daughters are the most adorable part of a family. They serve their parents better than sons. There is no doubt about it. They provide immense love to their parents and also take care of them in their old age. This they do even if they are working. Yet, their affection, care, sacrifice remains not acknowledged by their own parents and society. This is evilness on the part of the Indian society.
While the sons stay away from their parents and lack the ability to nurture them and care for them. Yet, they are not despised.

This is a sad truth that everyone knows but do not want to accept. The women rights groups have taken no step to address it. Neither has the government nor the legal system made any true attempts to overcome this evil of society. Many parliamentarians and judges and lawyers themselves are perpetrators of this ill of the Indian society. Shameful.

| Daughters in India are hated and not acknowledged! |
There should be stringent laws made to punish sons that do not take care of their parents. Property rights of daughters should be given to them from the parental side without fail. Do away with the horrid dowry system. Punish parents giving dowry as well. Punish parents who refused to acknowledge contributions of their daughters or turn a blind eye to it. Punish parents who force things on their daughters or prohibit them from education or work. Only with stringent laws and a sensitive and mature government can society change and give daughters their rightful rights! UN's gender equality goal of 2030 (SDG5) cannot be achieved without this!
