India invariably in top 10 list of most dangerous place for females of all ages: citizens and travelers

 India has ranked repeatedly in the top list of most dangerous place for women. Its name comes up as an unsafe place for women travelers. The land's own female citizens are oppressed and subjected to domestic violence and forced into sex and made sex slaves. Marital rape happens but the law of the land refuses to criminalize it. The PM of the land has abandoned his own wife and refuses to acknowledge her!!! This does not speak good of a culture that does a lot of boasting. 

Thomson Reuters Foundation and its survey

In 2018, Thomson Reuters Foundation from London asked 550 experts on women's issues to rate the countries from the world's most dangerous to the least dangerous nations. And India topped the list. The global experts said that in India, women suffered the most and ran a high risk of domestic violence and were forced into slave labor. After India, came the war-ridden nations of Afghanistan and Syria. And this was followed by Somalia and Saudi Arabia. 

The only Western world nation in the top 10 was the USA. Earlier, a similar poll was conducted in 2011. In that, India was in the top 10. The other nations were Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Pakistan, and Somalia. In India, rapes are a commonplace and nothing much is done by the government and law to tackle it. It has not being the priority even today when young girls are getting raped whether by strangers or their own family members or husbands.

What experts say?

Manjunath Gangadhara, an official at the Karnataka state government said:

"India has shown utter disregard and disrespect for women ... rape, marital rapes, sexual assault and harassment, female infanticide has gone unabated,"

"The (world's) fastest growing economy and leader in space and technology is shamed for violence committed against women."

But the government and law of the land has gone shameless in this regard!!!

Every hour, 4 cases of rapes occur. The figure rose by 83% from 2007 to 2016. India is most dangerous country for women in terms of human trafficking, including sex slavery and domestic servitude, and for customary practices such as forced marriage, stoning and female infanticide, said the respondents. The Ministry of Women and Child Development as usual was mum on this poll. 

Unsafe country for women travelers

South Africa tops the list here in 2019. Spain is the safest nation for solo female travelers. India, of course, was in this list. Other nations were the USA, Morocco, Egypt, Brazil, Russia, Mexico, Iran, Dominican Republic, Thailand, and Malaysia. Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Chile, Argentina, Cambodia, Tunisia, Bahrain, and Ukraine were other countries in the top 20 countries worst for women travelers. Besides, Spain, Singapore, Ireland, Austria, and Switzerland were in the top safe list for women.
