Beard or No Beard: What is desired by men and women?

Yes, facial hair and beards are getting popular as a fashion statement. More and more men across the globe prefer to grow facial hair and not shave it? Why?

All Things Hair surveyed 522 men about growing beards. They found that 311 men already had a beard. When asked the reason for it, more than half of these men felt that it makes them look professional. 59.16% of these men felt that it gave them confidence and a high over 70% felt that it enhanced their attractiveness.

In 2020, the number of men growing beards increased. This was due to the coronavirus pandemic. People were at home, barber shops were closed and people were working remotely. There were no social events to attend. Hence there was no need to shave. It saved time and efforts. And maybe cost as well. 

What do women feel about men beard? 

Women of today have generally started accepting men with beards. They feel that their man with a classic Beard looks more handsome and also mature. Many women also feel that it is sexy and masculine for their male partner to sport a beard.

Dating and relationship coach Christine Baumgartner says:

"About 30% of my female clients prefer some facial hair, 10% are fine with lots of facial hair and 60% prefer clean-shaven."

New age beards

But rather than the scruffy beard, men are going for well-maintained beards. Excess side hair is removed and it is with well-defined margins. Beard products have come that are used to wash, moisturize, oil, and groom the facial hair and beards. Men invest in these products for that great and elegant look. The beards are well-trimmed and no more with that unkempt look to it.

Besides, colors are  used to cover the greys. Various styles are in. Beards are here to stay even in 2021 and this trend is not going away anytime soon.
