Samuel and his crimes

In the 1980s, Samuel had killed three women in Los Angeles County. The Court had trialed him and sentenced him to three life sentences with no chance of parole. Later, Samuel had confessed that he had killed 93 women across the country. He had strangulated them between 1970 and 2005. Hence the FBI named him the most prolific serial killer in the history of the USA.

In 2012, he was arrested on charges of narcotics possession and trade. He was extradited to Los Angeles. On DNA analysis, his DNA matched with old crime scenes. His involvement was confirmed in the deaths of three women in Los Angeles County. In 2014, he was convicted.

Samuel and his modus operandi

The serial killer Samuel led a nomadic life. His targets were women who were prostitutes and involved in the drugs trade. He used to rape them before killing them. As regards his past profession, he was a boxer who had punched and strangulated most of his victims. But most of the cases were ruled as drug overdoses or other causes. This does not speak well of forensic medicine and its experts!!!

Samuel began confessing in 2018 when Texas Ranger James Holland wished to interview him. He was wanting to investigate an unsolved murder case of Odessa. And Samuel started his confessions since he was also eager to move prisons at that time. Christina Palazzolo from FBI said:

“Over the course of that interview in May, he went through city and state and gave Ranger Holland the number of people he killed in each place. Jackson, Mississippi — one; Cincinnati, Ohio— one; Phoenix, Arizona — three; Las Vegas, Nevada — one,"

This triggered a nationwide effort to recheck whether Samuel had any connections to their unsolved cases. And his hand was found in many of them. Samuel also managed to draw sketches of his victims!!! By October 2019, his role was found to be in 93 killings and FBI had verified it in 50 victims. This number was the highest number of murders done by one man in the history of the USA.
