Honeymoon and the top destinations

For the honeymoon, couples usually choose exotic destinations such as Switzerland, Maldives, Hawaii, the Caribbean islands, Turks and Caicos Islands, Bangkok, Pattaya, Bali in Indonesia, and the like. Beaches are the most liked by couples for a sunny romantic trip, especially after a wedding. But there is one beachy destination that has been found to be associated with the maximum divorces. Hence it is best to be avoided. Compare.bet surveyed 3100 people whose marriage had ended in a divorce. They wanted to know if the couples had gone for a honeymoon after their marriage and if so to which exotic place. And their survey findings were astonishing.

The Maldives and the marriage breaker

The survey showed that 20% of the couples who are now divorced had visited the splendid islands of the Maldives and the resorts on it for a honeymoon. These islands lie in the Indian Ocean near Sri Lanka and India.

And the next worst destination in this survey that led to heartbreak was Marrakesh. 17% of the divorcing couples had visited this place in Morocco for their honeymoon. The next three on this list of top 5 worst places for the honeymoon was Bora Bora (part of French Polynesia, 13%), Bali (10%), and Mauritius (8%). But it could be that these places are also the most visited for this special occasion post-marriage.
