5 controversial statements from Indian politicians in 2020! In which country are we?

Indian politicians are counted amongst the worst in the world. They work for self-gains and want to remain in power despite having no knowledge of the right way of administration. The current state of affairs in India is a glaring example of it. To add on, the talks of these politicians and also their acts are contrary to the policies of democracy and fairness for all the citizens of the country irrespective of their caste, creed, religion, gender or age. These politicians have never respected women in the true sense of the word. This might probably be related to their culture that is based on religious text Manusmriti that has given an inconsistent and internally conflicting perspective on women’s rights. The men there have picked up what suited them and the end result was that women hold an inferior position in that society. The same politicians talk a lot of rot and the below are 5 of the most controversial statements made by these power-crazy people in 2020!

The year 2020 was overall a bad year for everyone in the world. The coronavirus pandemic did most of the ruins. There were cyclones at some places and unforeseen events and uncertainties. But despite all that, political dramas continued and might have reached a higher peak in 2020. Indian politicians known for their stupid and controversial comments and statements continued this even in the year 2020. Scroll down to read them!

1.      Senior Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh CM, Kamal Nath in October 2020 stirred a controversy when he labeled BJP Minister Imarti Devi as an ‘item’. An ‘item’ is a derogatory word used to imply a lowly thing or a vulgar woman. He had said: "Suresh Raje ji hamare ummeedvar hai...yeh uske jaise nah hai...kya hai uska naam ... main kya uska naam lun? ...apko toh mujhe pehle savdhan karna chahiye tha ... yeh kya item hai... (Our candidate is not like her... what's her name? You know her better and should have warned me earlier... What an item!)This happened when the then-CM was addressing a campaign rally in Dabra for the Congress candidate Suresh Raje. There were a lot of criticisms on this remark. But did it affect Kamal Nath in any way? Nay.

2.      The pro-Hindu BJP MP Pragya Thakur landed in a controversial place for her comments on lower castes. She said that a Shudra (lowest class of the society) feels bad for being called a Shudra because the Shudra lacks understanding. She said: "A kshatriya doesn't feel bad if we call them kshatriya. A brahmin doesn't feel bad if we call them brahmin. A vaishya doesn''t feel bad if we call them vaishya. But a shudra feels bad if we call them shudra, what is the reason? Because they don't understand," She continues to have a rhinoceros skin and is unaffected by backlashes fr her controversial statements on sensitive topics of that country.

3.      The height of all controversies was when during the raging coronavirus pandemic, BJP MLA from Assam, Suman Haripriya said: "We all know that cow dung is very helpful. Likewise, when cow urine is sprayed, it purifies an area... I believe something similar could be done with 'gaumutra' and 'gobar' to cure Coronavirus (disease),"

4.      The National President of All India Hindu Mahasabha, Swami Chakrapani said that the virus is a way to punish people who eat non-vegetarian foods. In his words: "Corona is not a virus, but avatar for the protection of poor creatures. They have come to give the message of death and punishment to the one who eats them.” The unscientific illiterate Indian also went on to give a solution to Chinese President Xi Jinping. He advised him to create an idol of Corona and seek his forgiveness. He went on to add that all non-vegetarian Chinese populace should vow to henceforth not harm any innocent creature. If they do, corona anger will come again!!! He even gave a dictum that all Indians who worship Gods and are believers of Gau Raksha (cow protection) are immune to the disease. It is worldwide known that in India, religion is totally commercialized. Religious leaders who uphold it are the ones who hoard gold and exploit the poor to do rituals in the name of God so that the leaders are benefited. That is the reason behind this person asking people to worship God because if they do not, his power and money would suffer!

5.      There are a bunch of fools in the BJP that mix religion and politics and earn vote banks with it. On 1 March 2020, UP CM Yogi Adityanath said that diseases such as blood pressure, heart attack, and even coronavirus can be won if one overcomes mental tension. He talked about Yoga. But one finds that the same people suffer from these diseases and then run to allopathic doctors for remedies. So they do not practice what they preach. Besides, with such bizarre talks, they will give mental stress to anyone including the doctors! He said: “…if a person overcomes mental illness, then he/she will not suffer from blood pressure, heart attack, kidney failure, liver dysfunction, or even coronavirus. He will be able to keep himself fit and healthy,”

A request to all people to please use your brains while casting votes and choose a leader based on what he does for society as a whole and not based on religion or what your neighbors or friends or relatives tell you to do.
