Melania Trump, the wife of defeated US President Donald Trump was not happy after he was elected as the President of the USA in 2016. She had cried but those were not tears of joy but tears of despair. And now that Donald Trump has been defeated, is she happy?

The business tycoon, Donald Trump had won the 2016 election against Hillary Clinton. He had suddenly become a political powerhouse from nowhere. But a book by Michael Wolff had claimed that Donald’s wife Melania was upset with her husband’s win. These claims were also made in a report in New York magazine in 2018. Michael has mentioned that Donald Jr. had revealed that his father was having a look of having seen a ghost when he saw Melania in tears. Melania was sobbing and had tears of despair not joy in her eyes. But Melania had vehemently denied these claims and said: 

 

"This book is clearly going to be sold in the bargain fiction section."

Her office also said that she was for Donald to contest the election and has always supported him in it. But there was a friend of the Trump family who had said that Melania was not keen to become the first lady come what may. Donald had also denied these reports and said: 

"Melania, our great and very hard working First Lady, who truly loves what she is doing, always thought that 'if you run, you will win.' "She would tell everyone that, 'no doubt, he will win'. "I also felt I would win - and Country is doing great!"

But it may be recalled that she had taken five months to relocate from NY to Washington DC.

If the report in New York magazine and the book of Michael Wolff are to be believed that Melania would be elated with her husband’s defeat. She probably did not want him to win so that she can return to her old days with him when there was happiness and the two could spend more time with each other without much public glare and criticism. Now that Donald Trump is defeated in the election, an expert said that he will do anything to delay this fate that has befallen on him.

Dr Nigel Bowles, the US politics expert at the University of Oxford, feels: 

 "I don't think this is just him posturing because I think he is an accomplished political tactician. 

"He has a visceral sense of the range of opinions in his coalition. 

 "He has a New York property dealer's sense of what is necessary to close a deal, and he is relatively unconstrained by convention. 

"So he will do what is necessary. I'm not making a moral judgement on this, observationally he appears to take risks he thinks necessary to prevail. 

"He has usually prevailed in his life. He hasn't lost an election yet. 

"I take him very seriously, and I take it that he is doing what he's doing to gain an advantage." 

Will Melania divorce Donald Trump now? 

 There are also reports circulating that Melania was just waiting for this day when Donald would be defeated and she would be able to divorce him. A former aide Stephanie Wolkoff said that Melania was negotiating a post-wedding agreement in order to get her son Barron an equal share in the fortunes of Donald Trump. She also alleged that the two have separate bedrooms in the White House and it is a transactional wedding. Also, former aide, Omarosa Manigault Newman said: 'Melania is counting every minute until he is out of the office and she can divorce. 

'If Melania were to try to pull the ultimate humiliation and leave while he's in office, he would find a way to punish her.'

So if these claims are true then Donald would have not only lost the election but also his wife!
