In their eagerness to boost digitalization, government and software companies will not tell you the lop side of digitalization. You are at the right place to know it.
1. Digitalization might increase speed and ease of work.
2. It might make work and system appear transparent. But this is not always so.
3. It has been said to be a remedy for corruption. But this is also not true. Because digitalization will not end corruption totally. It will only shift corruption upwards and land it in the hands of politicians and businessmen and affluent class. It will make them richer and make poor people poorer. This will increase capitalism. This is bad for society. Corruption will remain higher up and things will get costlier for people. Data gaps, human manipulation will make the service unworthy. Corrupt higher level officials can still manipulate system inputs, and bypass them. They can use tricks and hacking for frauds. Large scale corruptive activities from policy makers and politicians will continue and hurt common people.
4. Services get cumbersome with it. The technical snags, bugs, viruses, and system and internet failures will make the task frustrating and irritating.
5. It will marginalize people who lack internet service or are unable to do the job because of old age, vision issues, and physical disabilities.
6. Cyber threats are a reality. In order to protect the system, several security guards are put. These will only increase time spent and efforts on the computer and make life more miserable.
7. One will have to remember a lot of passwords and this is hard for many people.
8. More screen time means more eye strain, and more musculoskeletal issues
8. More screen time implies more sedantary life and rise in obesity and metabolic conditions such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension and the like.
9. It will lead to excessive exposure to easy entertainment and waste of time.
10. Misinformation will increase.
11. Cyberbullying can give rise to mental health issues and even suicides.
12. Human factor and touch is removed and leads to dry monotonous life full of misleading information and artificial laughs. There is no empathy in the service.
13. Implementation costs are high both for service providers and people. Maintenance and training of people also required and would be costly.
14. Retrenchment and unemployment would increase as computers replace humans
15. People become incompetent and employees would feel hopeless and dissatisfied on job. Sedantary life for them would increase and would lead to physical and mental health issues in them too.
Digitalization is not a magic bullet for corruption. It will not stop corruption. In fact, it will lead to more problems for citizens. It will and is already giving rise to a lot of health and mental issues.

The wise have said that if treatment is worse than the disease, better to not treat. This is the case of digitalization. Better to not support it. Better to stop it for human and social welfare and good. Do not be brainwashed by the few crooked politicians who coerce you to go digital. Rethink. Think about the masses and social good. Digitalization is not for social good. Digitalization is a curse like industrialization. Don't support it.
