Animals and holiness

All animals are God's creatures. It is rather silly to classify one animal as holy and others as not. This happens in India and speaks about the pettiness of the people who classify animals so.

Animals and holiness

All creatures on this planet are created by Almighty. The superpower is someone whom no one has seen. They may not be like humans. Hence to draw an image of them and worship it is foolishness.

Great reformers such as Jyotiba Phule, Swami Vivekananda etc. were against idol worship. But has it stopped now? No. The reason is that people like to remain weak-minded and not change with time. Sad.

Coming to holiness attributes to animals, some animals such as cows are labeled holy. While other animals such as dogs are put in the dirty category and hated.

Characteristics of animals

But if we look closely at the characteristics of these animals, one can observe the following:

Dogs-faithful, loyal, good companions, obedient, will never snatch foods, protect against enemies and thiefs, will never dirty the area around with their feces, will never attack or bite unprovoked.

Monkeys - will snatch foods from your hands, injures you, attacks you unprovoked, will litter a lot around.

Cows- will pass feces and urine everywhere in public places, can attack unprovoked, gives milk, snatches food.

So one can see that dogs are in fact more useful to humans than other animals. So why detest them and love others?

The message is to love and respect all animals irrespective of religion or what your forefathers or religious fools say. All of them have their plus and minus points. In fact, the animals that people hate have more goodness than the ones people worship in the name of religion.

Therefore , love all of the creations of God. Do not put them into slots of holy and unholy. Stop this hate game.
