Reconnaissance describes the layout, operation, and security of immunity passports!

Several countries are going ahead with COVID-19 passports or at least thinking about them. Many security printers and health management organizations have already formulated the layout of such passports. Various names have been given to them such as VeriFLY, TravelPass, CommonPass, MatriX-iPass and the like. So how will these new passports be like? Will they be in a physical form or will they be virtual? How would the personal data in them be protected?

About these immunity passports

Governments are rushing in for these passports but at no cost should privacy, security, data protection, and need for international standardization ne compromised here. They should not be easy to copy or used fraudulently. Reconnaissance International, document security specialist and publisher of ID & Secure Document News has given a glimpse into its options and implications. There is a Digital Document Security Conference Online on 30th March 2021 wherein a special panel to discuss on them has been added.

Reconnaissance and the White Paper

The said security specialist is also publishing White Paper that will lay down the issues involved in this making of passports. In this paper there will be options for the passports’ nature, details of required information, the way they should be tied to the bearer, their security and examination, and likely cyber attacks on them. The information from the panel would be added to this White Paper and an Industry Roadmap would be produced. This would be the route for well-protected immunity passports whenever they are put into action

But there are a lot of medical and ethical opposition to the introduction of immunity passports. Read here!
