This post might hurt many religious-headed people. But then, facts are facts and one has to learn to expect them. Many studies and correlations have revealed that religious countries are poorer. I have in my below table put down the religiousness of a country and matched it with their happiness index rankings, corruption index of that country, and also with the poverty level of that particular nations. And the results are clear.

*=2020 World Population Review, @=UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, #=Berlin-based Transparency International Report, a score of 50-100 is less corrupt and 0-50 is more corrupt, $=International Monetary Fund, World Economic Outlook October 2019
[North Korea was not rated in the happiness index. But it has its own list of the top happiest nations in which China comes first followed by North Korea, Cuba Iran, and Venezuela].
The Findings
The results reveal that less religious a country, the richer it is. Besides, the more religious a country, the more is its corruption index score. And more religious a country, the lesser is the happiness index of that nation. This is not a good finding but it is factual. Religion might be providing an emotional boost to the poor people but it does not help them come out of poverty. Besides, their blind faith in religion makes them get exploited by the religious heads. People, world leaders, and countries including the UN need to look at this aspect of the truth about religion and people! No doubt, more and more people are turning to irreligion for happiness. Make Humanity your religion and justice your motto for a better world of tomorrow!
Determining factors
There are multiple factors that determine the happiness of people in a region. This holds true for also corruption and growth and money in a country. But the thinking of the majority of the people of a country does greatly impact the happiness, corruption level, and richness of it. And religion has a great influence on people’s thinking. Besides, religion when it started and what it is now are two different things. Religion teaches no violence and almost all religions of the world are doing violence and pointing fingers at each other. In the present state, religion does not help anyone. It only ruins societies. It has become a commercial business and remained limited to customs and rituals only.

Religious people are trying to boast and bring it on the streets. Everyone has the right to religion but do it within the realms of your home. Do not get it out in public domains. And do not claim that your religion is better than the other. ALL RELIGIONS ARE EQUAL BUT THERE IS NO ONE ABOVE HUMANITY AND JUSTICE!!!
