Peter Nygard arrested in Manitoba, Winnipeg! Will be extradited to the USA!

 Sex trafficking charges! Yes, these are the charges on which the famous Finnish-Canadian fashion designer Peter Nygard, 79 has been arrested. There are multiple sex and criminal charges against him. Peter was produced before the Winnipeg court.

It has come as a surprise for everyone who knew the famous Finnish-Canadian fashion designer, Peter Nygard. On Monday, Manitoba RCMP officers and members of the Winnipeg Police Service arrested him on charges of numerous sex trafficking including sex trafficking of minors and racketeering.

The US Justice Department had requested for this arrest, it is said. They wanted to begin the extradition proceedings against Peter so that he could then face charges in the United States. The charges are part of an ongoing investigation carried out by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and New York Police Department (NYPD).RCMP Manitoba tweeted on their official Twitter handle:

“On Dec14, #rcmpmb Federal Policing officers, w assistance of @wpgpolice, arrested Peter Nygard, 79, in Wpg to face charges in ongoing @FBI & @NYPDnews investigation. Arrest follows @TheJusticeDept request to @JusticeCanadaEN to initiate extradition against Nygard. He’s in custody.”

The police have charged Peter with a total of 9 charges which he has now to face in the USA. These include one count of a conspiracy to commit sex trafficking, three counts of sex trafficking of a minor using coercion, fraud, or force, one count of transportation of a minor for the sole purpose of prostitution, two counts of transportation for purpose of prostitution, and one count of transportation for purpose of prostitution and illegal sexual activity. Additionally, the police have accused him of one count of racketeering conspiracy. This latter implies that he and his company did a conspiracy so that these acts could benefit them illegally and repeatedly. Most of these were by using coercion or extortion.

What do the authorities of the USA say about Peter Nygard?

The Justice Department of the United States District Court, southern district of New York allege that Peter had utilized the company funds, staff, and resources to entice, recruit, transport, harbor, and also maintain adult and minor females as victims for Peter’s sexual gratification. At times, these victims were also used to satisfy Peter’s business associates and personal friends. The Winnipeg court agreed:

“Nygard, and others … used force, fraud and coercion to cause women to engage in commercial sex with Nygard and others, and to remain with Nygard against their will.”

The court also stated that Peter used company money to pay for pamper parties that were used to lure victims. He also used the funds to pay for the various expenses of his girlfriends-for travel, living expenses, dental work, immigration assistance, cosmetic surgeries, abortions if they become pregnant, child support, and also medical treatments. He used to also use this money to crush any negative reports that used to crop up intermittently related to his illegal acts and sexual assaults.

Peter used to also divert pay for the false witnesses to counteract the true statements of victims or their aiders. Peter’s lawyer, Jay Prober requested to have a publication ban about the details of the case, but Justice Sheldon Lanchbery refused it. Jay said that he has applied for bail for the tycoon and his next hearing will be on 13 January 2021.

Jay also revealed that Peter has pleaded not guilty. He raised his concern for his client who he said had medical issues. These and his advanced age would make him susceptible to COVID-19 in the jail and he should be sent out on bail.
