New York Post has reported that a state trooper from New York named Dane Pfeiffer,35 is in a romantic relationship with the daughter of NY Governor, Andrew Cuomo, Cara Kennedy-Cuomo, 25. During the pandemic, Cara had moved to the family mansion in Albany and it was here that she met Dane Pfeiffer. Dane was at that time posted as a bodyguard for the Governor. The two struck a friendship that soon blossomed into love. It all started around April 2020.

After coming to know about this alleged affair of his daughter with Dane, Governor Andrew, it seems, used his powers and forced a transfer on Dane and had him sent away to Troop B in Plattsburg which is around 160 miles away. It is 25 miles South of the US border with Canada. Though the news report and some insiders and Dane's grandmother, Marianne Pfeiffer say so, the State Police have denied that Andrew was in any way involved in this transfer. They said that on 24 May 2020, Dane had asked for this transfer himself. The spokesperson for Andrew has also stated that Andrew was not responsible for this transfer. It was a voluntary one from Dane. An insider had said: 

"He (Dane) was transferred to keep him away from the daughter because the governor didn't like whatever they were doing." 

Dane and his early life and family life

Dane is aged 35 years now. His exact date of birth is not revealed. But he is probably from Connecticut. His grandmother, Marianne Pfeiffer who defended his relationship with Cara is from Lyme in Connecticut. There are no more details available about his parents and siblings if any. His schooling and college details and his ethnicity are not on records on the internet.

Records also reveal that Dane has purchased a house in Saratoga Springs near Albany in 2018. Hence, it is less likely that he would have voluntarily asked for a transfer to Plattsburg. It might have been made to appear like a request for voluntary transfer but this request also might have been forced on him. But there are no proofs on it. 

Dane and his career

Dane has completed his training from State Police Academy and graduated in 2015. He then started his career as a state trooper. He was also a former tennis player. He was in the Security circle of the Governor before his transfer to a post near the Canadian border.
