It is clear that Joe Biden is winning the Presidential election USA 2020. But a defeated Donald is not ready to accept his defeat with grace. He is frustrated with the results that are not in his favor. He wants to remain in power by hook or by crook. Hence, he is trying to delay and upset the whole process by asking for recounts in several areas. Besides, Donald is filing a number of lawsuits that are challenging the election results. He is not the man who will leave quietly. He does not believe in God’s decisions and people’s power. He only believes in his power! The power of money and dishonesty!

Many believe that he might even push Republican governors and legislators to substitute his own electors. He might whip up his base. Besides, he might do things that honest people cannot imagine. Because as they say, a cunning mind works more and uniquely than the minds of innocent people! Can Donald Trump refuse to leave the White House?

There have been no instances in the USA political history that a defeated President has refused to vacate the premises he used during his tenure. Donald Trump, therefore, cannot stay put in the White House and refuse to leave. Once the legal disputes are settled by the court and it is proven that he has legally lost the elections for sure, he has to leave the White House. Joe Biden’s campaign Spokesperson Andrew Bates had joked that Donald cannot be pushed out of the White House and Oval Office if he refuses to vacate them.

Andrew had earlier said:

“As we said on July 19th, the American people will decide this election. And the United States government is perfectly capable of escorting trespassers out of the White House”.

Therefore, Donald Trump cannot legally overstay in the White House after his loss in the election. He will have to accept it though, at present, he is refusing to accept his defeat.

Donald and his public defiance of defeat

Donald has not learned to take defeats. He was a person with no political experience when he suddenly won the elections in 2016. The reasons for his win are debated and under investigation. That added to his overconfidence and hence he is unable to take defeat well in his stride. He has publicly defied the results and also in his inner circle he has been saying that he is not going to accept the results. His two sons, Eric and Donald Jr. are advocating and supporting him strongly and Mike Pence is also preparing and arranging funds for the upcoming legal battles.

There are some in Donald’s inner circle who want him to accept the reality and face it. But they are also angry on others who are not allowing him to come to terms with his defeat. The proof of his non-acceptance of defeat is that he has yet not prepared his concession speech and on speaking to his allies he has been saying that he will not concede the election.
