Michael Jordan makes a donation of $ 2 million towards hunger relief!

This Thanksgiving season is coronavirus-tainted. The pandemic has led to economic losses and an alarmingly high unemployment rate. More than 80% of the country’s food banks have said that they are now serving more people than last year. The NBA legend Michael Jordan has also decided to donate the amount he earned with his The Last Dance documentary series towards hunger relief. He announced it and Feeding America also tweeted on it.

Michael Jordan and his Thanksgiving donation

The NBA legend, Michael Jordan had made $ 2 million with his ESPN’s documentary series called The Last Dance. But considering the fact that the world and the USA have a lot of coronavirus-induced crisis this year, Michael decided to give all these earnings to the food banks so that they could use it for hunger relief of the masses and poor.

Feeding America tweets about Michael’s gift

The Feeding America association also tweeted about this great donation from Michael Jordan. Their tweet read:

Unemployment is at its new height this year in the USA and also in the world due to coronavirus pandemic and lockdown. This has forced more and more Americans to seek help from food banks to beat their hunger. Feeding America runs 200 such food banks in the USA.

More on donations to the non-profit charity

Michael is from North Carolina and he said that this donation would go towards the feeding of the needy people of Carolina and Chicago.

The charity has further said that for this Thanksgiving people can make donations and gifts to the food banks. But the best gifts would be nonperishables such as boxed stuff, instant mashed potatoes, dry macaroni, canned vegetables, canned pumpkin, and canned sauce. This would make serving easier and these things would not perish and stay longer.

The Last Dance was a 10-part series and was most watched on ESPN. It talked about his career with the Bulls. In 2018, he also made a $ 2 million donation to people affected by Hurricane Florence. He had also made a $ 100 million donation towards the fight for racism in the US.
