Yes, the King of Pop had left debts valued at 400 million pounds. But some smart clever deals by his executors have assisted to not only wipe out these debts but also to generate excess earnings over it!!! Yes, in his name, his estate executors have raised 1.5 billion pounds!

Even after his death, money kept pouring in for the three children of the late star. This happened despite the fact that his name was embroiled in a lot of controversies. Two former child friends of the late musician had also accused him in a documentary of long-term sexual abuse! But still, things went in his favor as regards the money.

Michael was just 50 when he expired in 2009. After his death, his record sales itself got him 119 million pounds. In 2017 alone, his royalties, rights, and licensing deals and his Sony/ATV catalogue featuring classics by The Beatles brought in 42.3 million pounds. Approximately 12 million pounds came from his other merchandising deals and collaborations with various companies that included Cirque de Soleil.

His estate executors  John Branca and John McClain revealed that 250 million pounds were kept aside under the Account Current Change in Cash and Liabilities held in Business Entities. While his mother Katherine, and his three children namely Prince aged 23, Paris aged 22, and Blanket aged 18 have 8.4 million pounds in banks. 

The Court order

The court has ordered that Michael's nephew TJ would be the sole guardian of his kids. TJ was the former lead singer of the group called 3T and has been on holidays with the kids 4 times in one year. He was paid around 250k pounds for his work.

There is on record debt of 750k pounds on the late star's mother and children. They had loaned that money from the estate for an unsuccessful lawsuit against entertainment group AEG.
