Egypt: the ancient and rich civilization! Why has it remained under-explored?

Egypt is the most ancient civilization on Earth and has existed for many centuries. Its location is strategic in between Northeastern part of Africa and SouthWestern part of Asia. It is a Mediterranean nation that has seen a lot of ups and downs over the years. It also goes by the name of Misr.

The good old civilization

Egypt has an old civilization and wonderful progressive culture. During those golden years, Egypt had agricultural farms, urban areas, organized religion, central government, women empowerment and respect, and intellectual population. It had its own script which is called Hieroglyphics. The alphabets were in the form of pictures that were used mainly be priests. But these were lost around the 5th century when temples were destroyed. Arabs raided the place and islamized the population. Majority of its people are Muslims with a minority of Christians. It has seen several invasions over the years from Romans, Turks, and Arabs. But it has managed to preserve its long and rich culture to a significant extent.

Egypt and tourism

Egypt has mostly sunny and dry weather. It has deserts and coasts. Most population reside around River Nile.

Tourism is one of the source of income for the country. The Giza Necropolis is one of the seven wonders of Ancient World. It has pyramids and old history buried there. Besides, tourists come for its great beaches and Red Sea. There are a lot of other tourist places to see in Egypt.

Despite all its richness as regards culture and civilization, Egypt is largely under-explored. This could partly be because though tourism is on the governmental agenda, not much efforts have been really put in to attract crowds from other countries. Awareness of what the country has to offer for tourists is less and hence people are rarely able to reach the area. Most people from outside world have no inkling of the vastness and richness of Egyptian progressive culture. Besides, most of the internet material is in Arabic language. Very less sites are in English and hence people from Asia rarely know the country and fail to understand its culture and people.

But generally, people from the nation of Egypt are warm and gentle and want to share their long and ancient history with the world. The country has a lot of good things that could be picked up as part of acculturation process and happiness for the world!
